Having been neighbors with the brides family, growing up down the street, it was awesome to see the connections of friends and families at their wedding. I was thankful for the opportunity and how doing something I've enjoyed doing for years that date back to our early friendships, was able to share that. The excitement from both parties was amazing and Katy and Ben certainly shared the happiness they had to be getting married. I started the day at the Westin where the gentlemen were just about done suiting up before they headed upstairs to grab a drink at the bar because they were ahead of schedule so they enjoyed some downtime. I then drove back to my old neightborhood to Katys parents house where the girls were all getting ready. The buzz around the house was so fun and I randomly remembered playing knee hockey and video games in the basement years ago with my buddy Chris, Katys brother! We hung out for a while taking pictures and a first dress look with the ladies before heading to the venue in the limo parked outside. I took a minute pitstop at my parents to get my road bike from home because I was participating the Dempsey Challenge in the morning, then headed to the venue ready to roll! I've been to Brick South before and was definitely excited to shoot a wedding here knowing how amazing the place and light was. We took a few wedding party photos outside on the unique brick walls as the guests started to fill in the seats. Late fall led to a slightly earlier sunset than summer and the high windows of the venue let a sweet glow in as the ceremony proceeded. A few photos, a beautiful sunset, some hilarious and reminiscing toasts later the celebration was off and rolling! Such a great time photographing for you and your families! Cheers Katy and Ben!
